Lha Sha Nho'o Sca Swi Chandiu Thuilio'o in Jesus...

until all the world knows Jesus!!!!

The title of this blog is an indigenous dialect called Chatino. This very phrase resounds in the heart of every true missionary. Which is why I am putting this out there.

A young children's pastor from a remote village called Atotonilco, recently drew me aside to ask for my help this summer. This youth pastor is a 15 year old high school girl, her name is Estela. She has requested that I help her fund the cost of bringing her church children to a summer camp called Operation Samuel.

The purpose of Operación Samuel, is to provide village children the opportunity to come to camp near the ocean and just be children. Far from the poverty they have grown accustomed to and grown up with. Far from dusty sometimes dirty villages, and they have the chance to breathe the salty sea air and be simply...children. There will be activities, games, food, Bible lessons, clowns, face painting. It will be an absolute blow out. She asked me to either help with half the children with 150$ or all of the children about 40 for 300$. If this is something that you feel that God might lay on your heart to help with, email me and I can give you details. Thank you so much. So UNTIL THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS!!!!

on the streets of Laredo....

I wish I had a dollar for every mile that I have had to traverse the highway fromt the base to the border in the past two years. Then I would be one extremely rich Korean. So this past time I went to help a friend get a student visa, and sadly, no she did not get it. Anyhow, we had to go from the base to Mexico City, twelve hours, and then to Nuevo Laredo, another 15 hours. It was a terribly grueling trip but definitely worth it.

We got to stay with the family of one of the students of the worship school.

Soco and I were able to minister in their church. I had a small sermon about being spiritually awake, and how many times when we are spiritually asleep it resembles death. I used the illustration of how a sleeping person and a dead person for the most part look about the same. Soco ministered and prayed over people and also prophesied. I sang a few songs in Spanish. We were there in the small church for over four hours ministering. There was a lot of encouragement and reconciliation that took place that night.

Here are a few fotos:
This is Soco, Mirna and Elias. Mirna was so funny and had us cracking up all the time. Elias is her very handsome and healthy son.
I got to spend quite a bit of time with Elias. In this foto he was drinking his juice but with out using his hands and just had the bottle suspended in the air with his little feet.
This is Pastor Chuy and Pastor Dolores. We stayed in their house and ministered in the church. We took them out to eat at Parillita. A really good Mexican grill style restaurant. I ate enough meat to cause any vegetarian shame. The guacamole was extremely good.

I wrote a song...

okay so my debut as a songwriter/singer!!! I shared a couple of weeks ago in a church in Rio Grande, Mexico about when Moses spent time in God's manifested glory. In Exodus 20 God gives Moses and the Israelites his 10 commandments. In Exodus 19 he tells Moses and the Israelites that he will descend onto Mount Sinai to revel himself to them on the third day. So he had them consecrate themselves outwardly and inwardly from all things. As God's shekinah glory began to descend upon Mount Sinai, it was a dark thick cloud descending and billowing down the side of the mountain, while lightning bolts and thunder caused the earth to shudder and tremble, as well as the Israelites, except for one, Moses. And then Moses went up to Mount Sinai to receive the ten commandments.

Because God came in his awesome power and might the people became afraid and told Moses to speak to God for them. They chose their fear instead of intimate communion and fellowship like what Moses had experienced. Exodus 20:21 says,

So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was...

So I wrote this song, as I thought about what Moses must have experienced and felt. He took a risk to draw close to God's presence. God's presence is not cute or prepackaged. It is wild and fierce but glorious. When the time of my visitation comes I hope to have the same boldness the same fearlessness the same fierceness as Moses did.
