The title of this blog is an indigenous dialect called Chatino. This very phrase resounds in the heart of every true missionary. Which is why I am putting this out there.
A young children's pastor from a remote village called Atotonilco, recently drew me aside to ask for my help this summer. This youth pastor is a 15 year old high school girl, her name is Estela. She has requested that I help her fund the cost of bringing her church children to a summer camp called Operation Samuel.
The purpose of Operación Samuel, is to provide village children the opportunity to come to camp near the ocean and just be children. Far from the poverty they have grown accustomed to and grown up with. Far from dusty sometimes dirty villages, and they have the chance to breathe the salty sea air and be simply...children. There will be activities, games, food, Bible lessons, clowns, face painting. It will be an absolute blow out. She asked me to either help with half the children with 150$ or all of the children about 40 for 300$.
